This e-book is compiled as a part of materials I used in my study. It's a collection of the most useful cases of FS syllabuses and can be used as a source of information for all of FS professionals who are interested in developing new FS syllabuses according to their own countries' academic needs. The sources and the names of persons who are in charge of these syllabuses are mentioned at footnotes. As you know (better than me), there are many other useful FS curriculums and syllabuses that can not be neglected. In this e-book, my aim was gathering a Top 10 collection and I know that there are many others that are not mentioned in my e-book. The syllabuses are sorted in an order of difficulty or level of academic expectations, from the easiest to the most professional one. Happy futuring, Download Link: http://www.futuresdiscovery.com/Newsletter/SyllabusEbook.pdf

Understanding the concept of uncertainty and its natural implications is one of the main pillars of futurist thought. In fact, without understanding uncertainty every effort in thinking about the future will end in vain. Read more at: http://www.futuresdiscovery.com/Futures%20Studies/6SimpleSteps.htm

Click on: http://www.futuresdiscovery.com/ATLAS/Index.htm This is the second and revised edition of ATLAS of futures links (2010). The first edition was published earlier as a free e-book available at: http://www.futuresdiscovery.com/newsletter/ATLAS.zip
ATLAS of futures links is the most comprehensive directory of futures URLs ever designed & compiled by Alireza Hejazi, an Iranian futurist to help everyone who is interested in futures studies find his / her desired destinations on the Internet immediately and easily. It is being optimized and up-to-dated by adding more links every month.
A wealth of links are collected and categorized in STEEP mode alphabetically. Up to now 636 links (URLs) are classified as:
- Academic & Online Courses
- Articles, Blogs, Books, Downloads, Maps, Resources & Softwares
- Economic Futures
- Environmental Futures
- Futurists
- Journals
- Political Futures
- Sociological Futures
- Technological Futures
- Think Tanks & Organizations
"Change" is the nature of WWW addresses, so some of these links may be changed or inactive at the moment of your click. You can report the author changed or corrupted ones to be removed or revised in next editions. If you are a futurist or a member of a futurist think thank whose URL is not mentioned in this ATLAS, please feel free to contact the author and give him your (new) website address. You can also send him the links of your published books on futures studies and other related topics.

People live with their dreams. Dreaming (not day-dreaming) builds our visions for future. In fact, we will confront with the future through our dreams. One of the greatest arts of human beings is realizing their own dreams. The dream of flight, the dream of walking in the bottom of an ocean, the dream of watching inside of an ant's head and many other dreams have brought us to the point that we are standing on now.
From a very past time I had intended publish my personal dreams, dreams that may be common among a number of futurists who are living in developing countries and are eager to bring their countries at the edge of scientific and technological progress. I really don't know how many of these dreams may come true, but I'm working with all my strength to realize them as far as I can.
Please take a look at these dreams. You may find some of them as yours. If it is so, then share your comments with me and let's realize them through joint cooperation. I'm not confident about the realization of these dreams, but I'm sure with the possibility of our cooperation if we decide to do so.

Surely an informal opportunity for scientific cooperation with other futurists specially the open minded ones would be more valuable than attending a formal study program. My experience has shown me that this kind of friendship is more fruitful, because everyday you can learn new ideas from those professionals who think creatively about the future. This can be a good way for becoming a futurist.
Here are tips and my personal suggestions to become a futurist.

Dear Frank, I got exactly what you are talking about. Please read my new article at: http://www.futuresdiscovery.com/Futures%20Studies/7Dreams.htm especially the 3rd section (3. Futurists Qualifying System) related to your sincere and real concerns for the futurists. Talking and perhaps cooperating with you will be an honor of mine. With my best wishes, Alireza

Im wondering if teaching people to be creative is just pie in the sky? Can it be defined? What would the individual and societal rewards be? What possible threats may emerge? Im currently working with the UK's Qualification and Curriculum Development Team and thought Id push it out there and see who bites! mr.d.g.ellis@gmail.com for contacts or this forum...you choose

Article: http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2007/wireless-0607.html
The concept of wireless electricity has been around for a long time however, it seems to be re gaining popularity. MIT has published a proof of concept for this technology. Imagine charging your car by simply parking in your garage, or having witricity towers that charge everything in your neighborhood remotely!
Even better yet, imagine using the most abundant natural resource on earth, salt water to power your car instead!!?!
Article: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07252/815920-85.stm YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf4gOS8aoFk&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eengadget%2Ecom%2F2007%2F09%2F11%2Fcan%2Dsaltwater%2Dbe%2Dburned%2Das%2Dfuel%2F
I would also like to shed some light on “multitouch” technology. As we look in to the future, and think about new ways to interact with software to utilize these increasingly cheaper and larger display technologies, we mite invest some thought in to multitouch.
